[Karmen Necklace] Salty Fox Jewelry, SF
[Mint Oversized Tee] F21
[Combat Boots] Soda

First off I want to say I am really happy to share a local designer with you all...It's really important to support your local shops :)

This necklace is from Salty Fox Jewelry, located here in SF. They have an online shop too! This particular necklace comes from their current Aria Collection which is full of some beautifully creative necklaces & earrings.

It's officially my vacation! Tomorrow I'm leaving for LA, and then on Sunday I'll be doing the famous road trip from LA to Vegas with my bf. I'm excited to take lots of photos, both on my digital and analog cameras. I will be back next week and share them all with you!

A Porkpie Afternoon

[American Flag Tank] Karmaloop
[Bag] JOY the store
[Maxi Skirt] F21
[Snakeskin Booties] Topshop
[Rings] From everywhere

I. love. this. hat.

I've been eyeing it for so long, debating whether or not to get it (it's a bit pricey) but I'm glad I did! It goes with so many outfits and Brixton makes such great quality hats. Who wouldn't love to wear a hat called a "porkpie"?

Also, can't get enough of wearing this vintage belt from Tunnel Vision. Why is their stuff so amazing? It's unreal.

You should really check out Dana's jewelry at My Salvation. The quartz pendant necklace she made is so delicate and beautiful, it brings an etherealness to my outfits whenever I wear it. If you want to get something, be sure to enter HYBRIDHUNTER for 20% off. She is also a crochet genius, I mean look at her stuff at Nina Ramone, I want it ALL especially the Smugglers Notch.

OH--and I almost forgot to mention, how do you like the peek of my new place?? These were taken on the side of my house, but can you see why I call it the "cowboy cabin"?

I can't wait to take photos of the inside too, and the backyard. Just need to clear the many boxes of crap first!

xx,
Izumi

HOME SWEET HOME

My outfit:
[Flower + Skulls High-Low Top] H&M
[Tribal Ear Cuff + Wolf Necklace] For Love 21
[Suede Ankle Boots] ALDO

Mike's outfit:
[Denim Button-up Shirt] Obey
[Eco Organic Crew in Earth Natural] Alternative Apparel
[Black Jeans] Karmaloop

Say helloooo to my bf Mike and my kitty Chai!

This post is nostalgic already for me because I moved this weekend! So these photos were one of the last ones ever taken in my old apartment. I was there for 3 years! Crazy.

The old apartment was an old school studio unit with the typical San Francisco crown molding ceilings, french doors, and bay windows. It was pretty city-like with no access to a backyard, so my big doggie Chelsea couldn't lay out in the sun. I hated seeing her not able to run around outside any time she wanted.

So after over a year of apartment searching we found a small 1 bedroom home with a sunny backyard in the inner sunset!! It feels like a cowboy's cabin, there's iron bars on our windows and big trees in our woodsy backyard. I am quickly falling in love with it.

I really enjoy decorating and making my home just the way I like it. I'm definitely OCD...imagine my bf moving a heavy-ass chest and I'm like "1 inch to the left! ok 1 centimeter to the right!" I owe him a beer or 4 for sure.

I will be sure to share lots of photos once I'm done decorating. I'm thinking western + native + modern colors + antique furniture...I don't know, I'm all over the place. Check in with me in a month and I'll have myself and my home together haha.

xx,
Izumi

WATCH YOUR BACK

[Long Cardigan] H&M
[Embroidered Skull Top] Random boutique in Honolulu...wish I remembered the name :(
[Spike Necklace and Leopard pocketbag shorts] F21
[Bag] JOY the Store

Man...I really wish I remembered the name of the boutique I got this shirt at! Grrr don't you hate that? It was this cute tiny store owned by a young Japanese woman in some random alley in Honolulu. I remember it was after dinner and my bf and I started walking around the city at night when all the sudden I came across this small store with some random clothes outside on display. Everything looked handmade. All the sudden I look in the corner and see a rack of these amazing skull shirts! They had one in every color. I went with the tan & turquoise. It's one of my favorite tops that I own.

...Lately I've been getting the travel itch & the tattoo itch.

I'll be taking the famous road trip from LA to Vegas to celebrate me and Mike's 5 year anniversary in 2 weeks. I'm SO excited to take some amazing photos of the Mojave desert!

As for my next tattoo...well I could sure use some more time and money. Couldn't we all ;)

URBAN BEACH

[Rocky Zip Hoodie] Alternative Apparel
[White Tee] UO
[Tie-dye High-wasted Shorts] Riot Loco
[Crystal Bullet Necklace] My Salvation Jewelry *use code HYBRIDHUNTER for 20% off
[Bag] Under One Sky
[90's Combat Boots] Soda

When I say I live by the beach, I think most people would think of your typical California beach with hot surfers and girls in bikinis. I really just live by a torrid ocean with some sand, right next to an urban highway. There's some cool graffiti spots over there and some naked weirdos doing yoga. Then there are your usual kids and dogs playing around--yes, right by the naked people. SF is ridic haha.

On another note...how comfy are the Rocky hoodies from Alternative Apparel?? I wish I could wear it every day. Oh wait, I pretty much do!

ALL OF THE LIGHTS

[Oversized Crop Top] Fairground
[High waisted skinny jeans] Free People
[Gold Heart Ring] H&M

Every day I pass by this building in my neighborhood and I have no idea what it is for. I love the art deco style and colors of the building, it's really too bad it's not a bar or something--I want to hang out in there! I find that I am really fascinated with buildings, the best ones are the ones that are built to look like it's from a certain time period in history. It makes you feel like you're living in the past...I love that feeling.

This top from Fairground is so cool, especially up close, because the print is a bunch of pretty blurry lights. This particular top comes from their line, "Don't Tell Mom The Baby Sitter's Dead" which also has some amazing dresses!

Number A, a super stylish boutique in LA's Little Tokyo, sent me these Gold Spike Stud Earrings. I love these, they're really fun to wear and you can also use them to DIY your shirt collar tips (just stick the earring through the fabric and put the stud under the collar tip). Check out their stuff and feel free to use the code HYBRIDHUNTER to get 10% off any purchase.

We'll, I'm off to watch some old westerns with my bf, g'night!

IF I WENT TO BONNAROO

I would wear something like this...

[Porkpie hat] Brixton (This one I actually ordered, so excited to wear it!)
[Rocco Roller shorts] les pommettes
[Stone aztec rucksack] River Island
[Vintage velvet boots] Black Pyramid

and I would see...Alice Cooper/Kendrick Lamar/Das Racist/The Shins/Major Lazer/The Kooks/SBTRKT/and of course Ludacris

But alas, no time + no money = me collage-ing late into the night. Totally normal, yeah?

CROPPED & STUDDED

[Crystal bullet necklace] from My Salvation
[Triangle & rose rings + floral sandals] F21

I guess this is my take on a "summer" outfit, hehe. It's monotone and long sleeved, but if you have ever been in San Francisco during the summer, you would definitely understand. Somehow summer is the time for chilly winds here, it's that pacific ocean breeze x 100! At least my sandals are summery with floral print.

I know I'm wearing double ASOS here but I can't help it. I love UK fashion. Ever since visiting London in January, especially East London/Spitalfields/Brick Lane, I am totally influenced.

Also, how beautiful is this crystal bullet necklace? My Salvation's jewelry is so creative, and I love the way they use natural products like stones, bone, and feathers. Check out their site and if you want to get something you can use the 20% off code HYBRIDHUNTER.

Well I don't know about you but I am so ready for the weekend...doing indie movie night with the bf. If you know of any independent movies I should see, let me know please!

Till next time,
Izumi

AUBERGINE AFTERNOON

[aubergine vintage vest] Shoppalu
[white tank top + tights + rings] H&M
[leopard pocketbag shorts] F21
[faux fur tail] gift from sister from Iceland
[spike necklace + snakeskin boots] Topshop

I think this may be the only aubergine colored thing I have in my closet, but I do love the color! Shoppalu is really turning me on to wearing more vintage. It's fun to mix new pieces with old pieces to make an original outfit (I'm only just realizing this since I've started my blog).

Also, how cool is the purple faux fur tail my sis got me from Iceland? I totally want to visit there someday. Sigh, if only I had an unlimited amount of time and money to spend on traveling! Wishful thinking <3

till next time,
Izumi
